A South Central Kentucky influencer helped make Christmas brighter for dozens of families this holiday season through a new online Angel Tree initiative.

Brandon Jarrett, known for using social media to connect people and promote positive community efforts, launched a digital Angel Tree to assist families facing financial hardship during the holidays.

Modeled after traditional Angel Tree programs, the online version allowed participants to select an “angel” and purchase gifts directly from curated wish lists, each representing a real family or individual in need.

The response exceeded expectations. More than 30 families were supported, with over $5,000 in gifts and essential items purchased through the initiative. Donations came from across South Central Kentucky as well as supporters nationwide who learned about the effort online.

Jarrett said the project was personal for him, noting that he was an Angel Tree recipient as a child. He emphasized that the success of the initiative was driven by community generosity rather than individual recognition.

An Eastern Kentucky native, Jarrett said giving back locally will always be a priority. Following the success of this year’s effort, he hopes to expand the online Angel Tree initiative in future holiday seasons.
