Florine Rena Brooks

GLASGOW – Florine Rena Brooks, 77, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, at Greenwood Rehab and Healthcare Center in Bowling Green. She was born on November 15, 1948, in Glasgow, Kentucky, to the late May Katherine Clayton and Burford Brown.

Rena was known for her radiant smile and personality that could brighten any room. Devoted mother, sister, and friend, Rena dedicated her life to her family and simple joys that made life beautiful. She loved tending to her flowers and took great pride in maintaining her yard, where she found peace and joy in nature.

She is preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Walker and Richard Tyrone Walker; also her siblings, Mary Bryant, Carolyn Brown, William Brown, and Betty McClure.

She is survived by her children, Linda “Niecy” Gaskin, James Brooks, Rodrix Brooks, and Lakeisha Brooks. She is also survived by her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Her Memorial Service will be held at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 1 pm. Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
