The Morgantown-Butler County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Classic Parade filled the streets of Morgantown on December 6, and what a beautiful sight it was. The parade began at 2:00 p.m., but you could feel the excitement much earlier. By noon, families had already started lining the streets, bundled up, laughing, visiting with neighbors, and trying to claim that “just right” spot. Everywhere you looked, there were anxious children waiting for the first glimpse of candy flying their way, and adults soaking in the atmosphere that only small-town Christmas traditions can bring.

Vendors moved up and down the streets selling cotton candy, balloons, and light-up toys. It didn’t take long before the streets were completely full of eager people ready to celebrate the season together.
When the parade finally began, it started just the way we’re all used to: the Morgantown Police leading the way, followed by the Grand Marshal, elected officials, school bands, beauty queens, the floats, local businesses, jeeps, motorcycles, classic cars, Shriners, EMS, fire trucks and of course, Santa himself. And like every good country parade, the horses came last, giving everyone one final smile.

The floats were especially impressive this year. The 2025 winners were: 1st place going to Butler County Early Childhood/Little Bears. 2nd place going to Riding on Faith and 3rd place going to Friends of the Butler County Animals. Congratulations to all of them, each float showed so much spirit and creativity.

By the end of the parade, the kids’ bags were packed full of candy, parents had spent the afternoon catching up with friends, and the whole community shared nearly an hour of pure Christmas joy. It was another successful parade for Morgantown, filled with smiles, laughter, and memories to carry us through the holiday season.
