Attorney Marc Lovell gave an update on where the Papa Court issue is coming along. Lovell stated that all paperwork has been filed with the Secretary of State’s office, and the city is just waiting for them to finalize everything. This issue is about districting for voting. Papa Court previously showed it as a county prescient and not a Brownsville City prescient.

Mayor Simon gave an update on where the city is with the Oak Hill Road issue. Mayor Simon met with Judge Lindsey and signed the contract. The road will be repaved in the area between the bridge and the top of the hill at Brownsville. Then the payment will be settled, and Oak Hill Road will go into the counties list of roads.

Mayor Simon explained the contract with Leitchfield Gas. Approximately 21 years ago, Brownsville entered into a contract with Leitchfield Gas. The gas is located in Brownsville, and they are owners, but Leitchfield Gas maintains upkeep. Both share the cost of expansion lines. Brownsville was supposed to share in 20% profits from the gas. Brownsville owes Leitchfield Gas a large debt. Leitchfield Gas proposed to Brownsville to relinquish the gas to Leitchfield, and this will wipe out the debt. City Council agreed to negotiate to relinquish to Leitchfield Gas.

The garbage truck is out of use once again. Mayor Simon explained the truck needed repairs, but more issues were found while being inspected. The repair estimate is between $18,000 -$20,000. City Council decided to inquire if another bed can be placed on the truck, since this truck has had numerous issues.

Mayor Simon then stated WRECC will hang the Christmas lights on Nov.19. The meeting was then adjourned.
