The Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrests of two men following a long-term investigation into a series of cattle thefts across southcentral Kentucky.

According to a press release, Robert C. White, age 32 of Edmonton, and Jeremy C. White, age 38 of Hardyville, were both indicted in Hardin Circuit Court on felony charges including Engaging in Organized Crime and Theft by Deception (Complicity) involving cold checks valued between $1,000 and $10,000.

Jeremy C. White was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center.

Engaging in organized crime is a Class B Felony punishable by 10-20 years, with a mandatory serve of 85% of the sentence.

The investigation, conducted jointly with the Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement/Special Investigations Section, spanned multiple counties including Barren, Hart, Hardin, and Metcalfe. Additional support in the case came from the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney in Hardin County and the United States Secret Service.

Authorities say the operation involved interviewing numerous witnesses and executing multiple search warrants, which ultimately led to the arrests.

According to information provided to the Hart County News-Herald, the lead prosecutor in the case will be Commonwealth’s Attorney Shane Young with the Kentucky Circuit Court 9th District. Young was also the lead prosecutor in the Crystal Rogers case.

The investigation remains active, and officials say additional arrests may follow. The case is being led by Metcalfe County Chief Deputy Jarrod Steele.

Anyone with additional information regarding the case may call the Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Department at 270-432-3041.
