Edmonson County Homemakers and local 4-H clubs have taken to helping anonymously in Brownsville. Know White (8th grader at ECMS and a member of 4-H) created a blessing box, in conjunction with the Edmonson County Homemakers. He built the box with his grandfather for a leadership and woodworking project. He entered both categories at the state fair last year, where he won blue ribbons.

The box is located on Mohawk Street in front of the Extension Office.

The front of the box says, “Take what you need, leave what you can.” Inside the box, the Homemakers include food stuff, recipes, and seed packets. You can take anything inside or leave things for someone else. The best thing is that the box is open 24 hr. a day, 7 days a week, and you never have to worry about the card reader not working!
