The first-ever Munfordville Children’s Business Fair is set for Saturday, April 26, from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Munfordville First United Methodist Church.
This event, which was introduced by Darcy Howell, allows for local young entrepreneurs to experience the excitement of real-world business. This fun-filled fair will feature booths operated entirely by children ages 7 to 17. Each child will have his or her own vendor booth and launch their very own business with products made entirely by them.
“I first learned about the Acton Children’s Business Fair years ago and, after missing several sign-ups, my teen, Atalee Howell, suggested we host our own,” Darcy said. “We wanted to give children in our area who have an entrepreneurial spirit a chance to showcase it, as no such opportunity currently exists here. Having kids compete in adult markets isn’t ideal for their growth, so we set out to create an all-children’s fair. With help from Pheadra Pippin, her daughter Kiersten, and strong community support, we organized Munfordville’s first fair – open to all local kids and neighboring counties. We’re excited for a great turnout, with trophies and cash prizes, and hope to make this an annual event on the last Saturday of April each year.”
At the Munfordville Children’s Business Fair, you’ll find everything from handcrafted items to delicious baked goods, so remember to come out on April 26 at Munfordville First United Methodist Church and shop from local children. Every purchase helps inspire a young entrepreneur’s journey. Support the next generation of business leaders – because big dreams start small!
