Larry Wayne Fields

HODGENVILLE – Larry W. Fields, 75 of Hodgenville, KY went to his long-awaited home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 8, 2025. That very hour heaven’s singers sang sweeter, and the guitar strings played a little grander.

Larry passed from this life surrounded by his family whom deeply loved especially his children and grandchildren. He was a friend to everyone and loved to make people laugh.

He was an ordained minister and member of Hill Top General Baptist Church in Shepherdsville, KY. He loved talking, preaching, and singing about the God that he worshiped, and wanted to make sure everyone else knew the God he served, and the one of his greatest passions was playing his guitar and singing Southern Gospel Music.

Larry was a home builder by trade for most of his life, then became a Tour Bus driver which afforded him the opportunity to meet and entertain many people with his humor and quick wit.

He is preceded in death by his parent, James Ervin Fields and Annie Kathryn (Brown); a nephew, James Earl Jessie; and three brothers-in-law, Oneal England, Larry Thompson, and Tony Perkins.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Saltsman of Hodgenville; daughter, Michelle Wright of Lexington; son, Christopher (Missy) Fields of Taylorsville; and a stepdaughter, Julie (David) Smith of Bardstown; eight grandchildren, Jared (Baileigh)Wright, Caleb (Sierra) Wright, Lucas Wright, Bradley, Callie, Jacob, and Isaac Fields, Carson, Hayden, Noah, Isacc, and Emma Smith.
