Marguerite Reece Sullivan

EDMONTON – Marguerite Reece Sullivan, born March 10, 1921, in Metcalfe County, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 103. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rufus Reece and Bettie Strange Reece; her husband, Henry Sullivan; her son, Tim Sullivan; brothers, Leon, Russell, Robert, Ralph, J.W., and Tommy. Marguerite graduated from Edmonton High School and Lindsey Wilson College. She taught in several one-room schools and Edmonton Elementary.

Marguerite is survived by her daughter, Carol (Guy) Perkins of Edmonton, and her son, Henry Sullivan, Jr. of Crestwood, KY; grandchildren, Carla (Mark) Green of Chapel Hill, TN, Jon (Beth) Perkins of Austin, TX, Marshall (Kelly) Sullivan of San Diego, CA, Sharon (Kristoff) Bailey of Temecula, CA, Heather Sullivan Lally (William) of Jackson, GA, Dustin (Samantha) Sullivan of Burkesville, Sarah (Kurt) Thomas of St. Augustine, FL, Asher (Annie) Sullivan of Bowling Green; fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Also surviving are Tami (Dennis) Branham, daughter-in-law, brother Billy Reece of Edmonton, and sister Martha Mitchell of Louisville. Marguerite cherished her many nieces, nephews, and caregivers.

Funeral services for Marguerite Sullivan will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of the service on Wednesday here at the funeral home.
