State of the City
Several came out to hear the updates from each city board and the Mayor’s State of the City address.

On January 9, 2025, Mayor Billy Phelps and the Morgantown City Council met for the 2025 State of the City inaugural meeting.
In attendance were members of Tourism, Planning and Zoning, the Fire Department, the Housing Authority, the Utilities Commission, Code Enforcement, Public Works, Police, and the City Clerk.

Each department gave its monthly report and introduced members to their department. At the end of the meeting, Mayor Billy Phelps read the Mayor’s State of the City. Then, Mayor Phelps adjourned the meeting.
City Council Meetings take place on the second Thursday of every month at 5pm in the upstairs chamber of City Hall.
