Eugene Ernest Rajala

EDMONTON – Eugene Ernest Rajala, 76, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025, at his home. Eugene was born July 13, 1949, in Ishpeming, Michigan to the late Ernest and Glady’s Rajala. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy England Rajala; two stepchildren, Lonnie England and Mary Alice Rich.

Eugene worked and retired after 34 years from Cleveland Cliffs, Inc. as a shovel and loader Operator. After moving to Edmonton in July of 2003 he met Dorothy and later on, they married. He worked part-time at Walmart in Glasgow and Dollar General Market in Edmonton until he fully retired.

He is survived by his children, Kenneth Rajala and Lori Rantala both of Michigan; three stepchildren, Tommy (June) England, Debbie Hurt, and Wayne England all of Edmonton. He also has several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

In honor of Eugene’s wishes the family has chosen cremation. Butler Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted to the care of Mr. Rajala.
