Roger P. Burris
KNOB LICK – Roger P. Burris, 75, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025 at his residence after a brief illness. A native of Barren County, he was the son of the late John Thomas Burris and Zoroder Shirley Burris. Roger was a lifelong farmer who loved to watch UK basketball and any kind of Western show on television, especially Gunsmoke.
Survivors include one daughter, Sherry Mills (Chris); and one grandson, Derek Mills (Holly) all of Knob Lick; one brother, Gordon Burris (Jayne) of Hiseville; one sister, Elsie Jessie of Louisville; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Cumbee Burris; one brother, Junior Burris; and three sisters, Ruby Williams, Helen Jackson, and Mary Wilson.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2025, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Big Meadow Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12 noon Sunday at the funeral home.
