Emma Jean Tyree

Emma Jean Tyree, 87, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024. A native of Monroe County, she was the daughter of the late Bascal Hagan and Effie Carlock Hagan. She was a homemaker and a member of the Temple Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include two children, Eric Tyree and wife Paula of Smiths Grove, and Bonnie Chaffin and husband Garry of Bowling Green; seven grandchildren, Joshua Wilson, Jordan Wilson, Zach Chaffin, Cody Chaffin, Matt Tyree, Courtney Livingston, and Jessica Peters; one brother, Bascal Hagan, Jr. of Glasgow; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Riley Lee Tyree; three brothers, George Frank Hagan, Dillard Hagan, and Ronald “Peanut” Hagan; and by two sisters, Doris Reecer and Blanch Hagan.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 16, 2024, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Kosair for Kids.
