William Richard Carey

SUMMER SHADE – William Richard Carey passed away on December 4, 2024, at his home. He was born on September 18, 1934, in Buffalo, NY to the late John and Gertrude Carey.

Mr. Carey was a member of the Grandview Church of Christ and a veteran of the United States Army. He loved children, old movies, and classical music.

He is survived by four children, Rosalie (Frank) Megliette, Thomas (Michelle) Carey, John (Annette) Carey, Frank (Jeanette) Carey and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Frances Carrigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four sons, infant twins, William R Carey JR, and Louis J Carey; his siblings, Robert, Agnes, John, and Richard also preceded him in death.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 on Friday, December 13, 2024, with the funeral following at 1:00. The visitation and funeral will be held at McMurtrey Funeral Home in Summer Shade with Brother Jim Walsh officiating. He will be buried in the Marrowbone Christian Brotherhood Church Cemetery in Burkesville, KY.

He will be missed by his church family and many other friends.
