Doris Marie Gibson

EDMONTON – Doris Marie Gibson, 99, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Metcalfe Health Care Center. Doris was born December 7, 1924, to the late Oran and Lillian Hayes Froedge. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hildred Gibson; son, Dale Gibson; brothers, Robert, Junior, and James Froedge; and her sister, Bernice Gooden.

Doris was a member of Missionary Mound Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her garden, sewing, and cooking.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Amanda Gibson of Edmonton, and Matt (Karen) Gibson of Tompkinsville; great-grandchildren, Mason and Chandler Gibson; daughter-in-law, Pam Gibson of Edmonton; and her sister, Phyllis (Don) England. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Doris will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Missionary Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM Wednesday morning until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Missionary Mound Cemetery or Beaumont Cemetery.
