Betty Jean Bunch

EDMONTON – Betty Jean Bunch, 87, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024, at the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home surrounded by her family. Betty was born August 10, 1937, to the late Eugene and Helen VanZant Cassady. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, James, Eugene “Bug” and Arnold Cassady, Dorothy Lambirth, Ruby Roberts, and Margie Harris; great-grandson, Riley Bunch; sister-in-law, Delphia Gibson; and brother-in-law, Hoover Bunch.

Betty attended Antioch Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to the horse races, spending time with her family, and going to Myrtle Beach. The real highlight of Betty’s life was anything she was doing to spend time with Rex whom she wed July 23, 1955, they were inseparable.

She is survived by her husband of 69 1/2 years, Rex Bunch of Edmonton, KY; two children, Ricky (Lisa) Bunch of Edmonton, Dianne (Danny) Turner of Richmond, KY; five grandchildren, Faith (Daniel) Whitlow, Jacob (Sherry) Bunch, Jeannie Marie Vorbeck, Captain Joseph (Anna) Vorbeck, and Dr. Jonathan Vorbeck; five great-grandchildren; Kassidy, Ryan and Miranda Bunch and Travis and Lucas Whitlow, sister-in-law, Louella Cassady; and special cousin, Alice Thompson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Betty Bunch will be held 2:00 PM Monday, November 4, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home with burial in Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM Monday here at the funeral until time of service.
