Lugene Barton Jessee

EDMONTON – Lugene Barton Jessee, 94, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the Shanti Niketan Hospice House in Glasgow. She was born November 11, 1929, in Metcalfe County to the late Raymond and Ruth Anderson Barton. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jammie Stephens; a sister, Naomi Burris; and her brothers, Edward, Shorty, and Philip Barton.

Ruth was the oldest living member of New Liberty Baptist Church. She was a joy to be around and always loved to talk about her childhood and all the good memories she had of so many people.

She is survived by her children, Roger (Chris) Stephens of Pelican Lake Wisconsin, Debbie (Kenneth) Robertson of Glasgow, Linda (Ronnie) Franklin of Edmonton, and Brenda (James) Hunley of Edmonton; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Barbara Pedigo.

Funeral services for Lugene Jessee will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, October 7, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, KY with burial in the New Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Sunday and after 8:00 A.M. Monday until time of service here at the funeral home.
