Gladys Marie Bryant age 74 , passed away

Gladys Marie Bryant age 74 of Bonnieville passed away Wednesday, July 31st at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was the daughter of the late Olia Polston Compton & Ernest Philpott.

She was a former custodian with Bonnieville Elem. School, a cook with Hart County Manor, and worked at the sawmill until her she wasn’t able due to her health.

Gladys was a member of the Bonnieville Baptist Church.

She was preceded by a great-granddaughter Novalee Reighn Bryant and by 14 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years James Bryant; five children Brnda Puckett(Darrell), Teresa Rucker(Philip), Jamie Bryant(Peggy), Jason Bryant(Amanda) and Alisha Underwood(Chad);brothers David Philpott, Royce Philpott & Charles Compton, Jr.; sisters Nellie Bryant, Gracie Bryant, Mary Wilson & Joyce Gerleman; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service for Gladys Marie Bryant will be held at 1pm Saturday, August 3rd in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home with burial in the Concord Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 3-8pm and will continue after 8am Saturday at the Sego Funeral Home.
