James N. Owens

CAVE CITY – James N. Owens, 71, passed away Friday, July 12, 2024, at Franklin-Simpson Nursing and Rehabilitation center. He was the son of the late Jesse and Maxine Burton Owens. James was an electrician by trade and was a former employee of DANA Corporation. James proudly served his country with the Kentucky Air National Guard as a Tech Sgt.

He is survived by his wife, Deannie Burton Owens; three children, April Dunbar (Barry), Deana Owens, and Eric Owens (Stephanie); eight grandchildren, Cole Gardner, Ziva Gardner, Madalyn Owens, Andrea Owens, Gabriel Owens, and August Owens, Kaley Billingsley (Thad), and Mason Dunbar: two great-grandchildren, Hallie and Carly Billingsley; two brothers, Carlos Owens (Debbie), and Morris (Sandy); two sisters, Marcia Updike (Bob), and Kathy Ailiff; two special nephews, Joe Troutman, and Wally Braden.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Lavelle Braden; and brother in-law, Charles Ailiff.

James’s wishes were to be cremated and no services are scheduled at this time. Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home is assisting family with arrangements.
