The Summer Chamber Breakfast was held Tuesday, July 9th in the Old School Gym. There were ninety-two people scheduled to attend with a few of those seats vacant. This was definitely one of the larger summer breakfast crowds on record. The Chamber breakfasts are famous for great food, information, and the opportunity to network and meet other businesspeople and members in the community.
Chamber President, Daniel Bragg opened the meeting by welcoming the crowd and thanking all those that support the Chamber and help make the event possible. Special thanks were given to Chamber members, Diane’s Cakes & Catering for providing another delicious breakfast, to Shane Dial who designed and crafted the Chamber Business Award, and to the school for setting up the Old School Gym for the event.
The Business of the Quarter Award went to Metcalfe County Farm Bureau, Agency Manager, Tareena Horton Slone. Tareena thanked the Chamber for the recognition and acknowledged her team, Sandy Froedge, Diane Phelps, Luke Wilson, and Sydne Whitley for all their hard work and dedication. Tareena shared her belief in living by the Golden Rule, and that is how she runs her business.
Congratulations to Tareena Slone and the KFB Team! Tareena sets a notable example for others, she believes in giving back to the community, and is a huge supporter of the Chamber and our school system.
The City Grill was the Sponsor of the Summer Breakfast. Kayla Blythe Jessee on behalf of her mother, Diane Blythe and herself thanked the Chamber and the community for their support over the years. The grill has been in operation for 25 years, starting out in the old Jim’s Grill location by the Methodist Church in town and then moving down the road to their current location in 2006. Diane, Kayla, and Susan are the friendly faces of the City Grill.
Thank you, City Grill, for your support of the Chamber and for sponsoring the Summer Breakfast!
Congratulations to Tammy Thomas and Yovanna Estes, the winners of $25.00 cash door prizes compliments of the Breakfast Sponsor.
