The Edmonton/Metcalfe Industrial Development Authority (IDEA) held its regular June meeting on Monday, June 17th with all in attendance except Donna Caffee.

The first order of business was to approve the minutes from the May 20th meeting.

The monthly financial report was presented by Secretary/Treasurer Alley Bragg for the period of May 20th through June 17th. Checks were written to pay Promissory Notes to the City of Edmonton $38,686.26, the county $38,686.26, and the BRADD EDA-RLF $34,032.09. That left $42,441.39 to be paid on the principal of the Edmonton State Bank loan.

After the loan payoffs, the remaining account balance was $32,794.35.

As of July 1, 2024, the monthly payments of $10,941.90 received from Pennington Stave Company will be paid directly on the Edmonton State Bank loan.

The Department of Local Government (DLG)/Special Purpose Governmental Entities (SPGE) Fiscal Year 24-25 budget begins July 1. The FY 25 budget was approved unanimously.

Summer Shade Solar representatives have contacted Chairperson Lisa Boswell. She advised that they were only promoting their name Summer Shade Solar.

In other business, it was proposed that Jerry Garmon look at several white oak trees located on the back section of the South Industrial Park property to determine if they are the appropriate size to be used at the stave factory. Due to the excessive rains over the last few months, timber supplies have been slowed down.

The next meeting was scheduled for Monday, July 15, but with Chairperson Lisa Boswell on vacation at that time, the meeting was rescheduled to Monday, July 29th at 2 p.m. at the Edmonton City Hall.
