Jolly to fulfill court clerk vacancy, swearing in ceremony today at 4 p.m.

By Allyson Dix, Managing Editor / Barren County Progress

Julie Wright Jolly will be sworn in today, June 12, at 4 p.m. to fulfill the unexpired term of Barren County Circuit Court Clerk Krissie Coe Fields.

Fields announced a career change and withdrawal from the ballot in November’s election on May 20 after she was appointed and subsequently accepted a full-time position on the Kentucky Parole Board.

Barren County Circuit Court Judge John Alexander, in a court order filed in the Barren County Circuit Clerk’s office on June 10, appointed Jolly to the vacant position with her duties to begin on June 16.

Jolly, a Republican, is now the only candidate in the race following Fields’ withdrawal from candidacy. She was previously the Democrat candidate for the county’s circuit court clerk.

Jolly will be sworn in at the Barren County Circuit Courtroom.
