Melinda Gayle DeWeese

EDMONTON – Melinda Gayle DeWeese, age 50, passed away June 7, 2024, at Centennial Medical Center in Tennessee. She was born in Glasgow on October 28, 1973, to the late Robert Eugene and Nelda Janette Carter DeWeese. Ms. DeWeese worked in the fast-food industry.

She is survived by one son, Jessie (Mattie) Taylor; and two stepdaughters, Danielle Brewster and Kim Brewster; eight grandchildren, Sophia DeWeese Taylor, Harley DeWeese Taylor, Hailey Poteet , McKenzie DeWeese Taylor, Trey Brown, Colby Brewster, Brooklyn Shirley, and Olivia Shirley. She is also survived by three sisters, Paula (Robert) Humphrey, Pam McKenzie, and Sheila DeWeese; two brothers Timmy DeWeese and Chris DeWeese.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Logan DeWeese Taylor; one sister Debbie Hagan; and one brother, Mike DeWeese.

Funeral services will be Wednesday June 12, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brother Roger Poynter officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday June 12 from 10:00 till funeral time of 1:00 P.M. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made toward the funeral expenses and can be left at the funeral home.
