William Garfield Gibson

EDMONTON – William Garfield Gibson, 85, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024, at TJ Samson Community Hospital, in Glasgow, Kentucky. Garfield was born August 11, 1938, to the late Hatfield and Melissa Head Gibson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Gibson; his brothers, Audrey Gibson, Welby Gibson, James Gibson, Rowe Gibson, Jewell Gibson, and Carl Gibson; and his sisters, Drucella Thompson, Inis Gibson, and Ethel Fields.

Survivors include his son, Rick Gibson (Charlene); his grandchildren, Richard Gibson, Stephanie Goodall (Andrew); his great-grandchildren, Mylei Gibson, Nickolas Gibson, Lilly Goodall; his very special nieces, Penny Riddle and Cathy Nunn; and several more nieces and nephews.

Garfield enjoyed woodworking, mowing yards, and tinkering with a variety of different things in his shop.

Funeral services for Garfield will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, May 13, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home and after 8:00 AM on Monday until time for the service.
