Caverna High School senior Dawson Daniels is nationals bound.
Last week, Daniels placed second statewide in Career Preparation at JAG Kentucky’s State Career Development Conference (CDC). He has officially qualified for the National CDC to be held April 18-20 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Daniels is competing in the Career Preparation category with his dream career choice as a meteorologist.
“In my presentation, I talk about the influences of Chris Allen and Shane Holinde, the two meteorologists that I grew up watching,” Daniels shared. “I admired the work they did, from their public speaking skills to their positive energy and attitude they brought each and every day. I also discuss the education and experience needed to pursue the career of a meteorologist, day to day operations, and how the field of meteorology is becoming a high demand. Finishing off my presentation on how Jobs for America’s Graduates has helped and will continue to help me reach this goal.”
After high school, Daniels plans to attend Western Kentucky University to major in Meteorology and Atmospheric Studies.
JAG, which stands for Jobs for America’s Graduates, assists students in succeeding in both school and on-the-job. JAG helps keep young people in school through graduation and improve their success rates in education and careers.
