Billy Joe Poynter

HARDYVILLE – Billy Joe Poynter, age 62, departed this life on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at his residence. The Barren County native was born on October 5, 1961, to the late Billy Thomas and Martha Smith Poynter.

Billy Joe worked for Hollinder Manufacturing and was a member of Providence United Baptist Church. He had a great passion for being outdoors and enjoyed hunting.

He leaves to honor his memory—his children, Sherry Senn (Hunter) of Glasgow, and Thomas Poynter of Hardyville; grandson, Chandler Poynter; brother, Ricky Poynter (Debbie); nephews and niece, Bradley Poynter (Ashley), Wesley Poynter (Ashley), Patrick Poynter (Beth), and Reanna Poynter; along with several great-nieces, and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby, John, and Donnie Poynter.

Interment will be in Cave City Cemetery
