Bernice Smith

Bernice Smith, 94, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023 at NHC Healthcare Center which she had considered her home for the past 19 years. She was a native of Barren County and a homemaker.

Survivors include three children, Carolyn Bybee of Horse Cave, Christy Christy and husband Tony of Cave City, and Michael Smith of Austin; one granddaughter, Stacey England and husband Matt of Edmonton; and one great-granddaughter, Allistar Jewell Christy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman Smith; two sons, Bobby Smith and Gary Smith; one grandson, Cody Christy; one sister, Virginia Eubank; and one brother, Clifton Compton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2023, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and continue Thursday morning at the funeral home.
