Nancy Kaye Perkins

SUMMER SHADE – Nancy Kaye (Rutledge) Perkins, age 81, passed away on November 3, 2026, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  She was born on October 21, 1945, in Hart County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Earl and Maedelle (Hawkins) Rutledge.

Kay married Stanley Lee “Honey Bun” Perkins on February 1, 1964, in Jackson, Tennessee.  They resided in Summer Shade, Kentucky.

In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; three brothers, Jim Rutledge, Garry Rutledge, Larry Rutledge; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Denzel and Audrey (Pedigo) Perkins.

Kay is survived by eight siblings, Joyce Harrell, Bardstown, KY; Don (Connie) Rutledge, Danville, IL; Steve Rutledge, Cumby, TX; Deb Powlison, Snellville, GA; Tom (Lauren) Rutledge, Imboden, AR; Angela (Ken) Copenbarger, Weldon, IL; Mark Rutledge, Weldon, IL; Phil (Stacy) Rutledge, Stanford, IL; Kim Perkins of Edmonton, KY; and one brother-in-law, Jeff (Kim) Perkins of Hiseville, KY.  In addition, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews who love her deeply.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00 am on Tuesday at McMurtrey Funeral Home.
