The Metcalfe County Homemakers held their annual soup luncheon last Thursday at the fairgrounds building, serving up a variety of homemade soups and chili that were thoroughly enjoyed by those in attendance. From potato and vegetable soup to chili, these ladies know their way around the kitchen.

The meal included all the fixings, including cheese, crackers, and cornbread, along with several desserts to choose from.

The annual luncheon has become a tradition for many in Edmonton, who look forward to the event each year. In addition to the meal, attendees could bid on items in a silent auction featuring homemade fudge and pies. Tickets were also available for a drawing for the beautiful quilt on display.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Extension Homemakers Ovarian Cancer Screening Project and the Metcalfe County Homemakers College Scholarship.
