Woodbury Building Approved

The Fiscal Court approved the proposed Woodbury City building. The previous building was struck by lightning and burned beyond repair. The new building will be moved closer to the Green River Museum in order to have bathrooms inside that will be open to the public during events at the Museum.
A new Ordinance for Bucket Shakes was discussed. The Fiscal Court approved to limit the number of times an organization can collect with bucket shakes, and they must get approval through the Fiscal Court before they set up.
Amanda White from the Boys and Girls Club asked the Fiscal Court to release the funds for Fiscal Year26/27. The Court approved the release of the $11,500 to the Club.
The Fiscal Court approved applying for the Litter Abatement program and approved the current Litter Abatement payouts.
The Fiscal Court reviewed requests for an opioid grant payout. The County currently has around $300,000 in Opioid payments, with more to come. There are restrictions on how the money can be spent. The Fiscal Court decided to look over the request and make a decision at the next meeting.

Judge Executive Flener asked Magistrates to locate potential sites for the Illegal Dump Grant and turn those in by October 1. The EPA will need to approve the sites to be qualified.
The Fiscal Court approved the AC quote for $8,980 for a new air conditioning unit at the Road Department. The current unit is over 20 years old and past its usefulness and repair. Kinser’s Heating and Air will replace the old unit with a new one.
Judge Exec. Flener explained the bridge at Dimple Sugar Grove was found to be much worse than originally thought. The bridge will be a complete teardown and rebuild, not just a major repair.
The Fiscal Court approved the Recreational Trail Program application. This grant will be a 20% match from the county but can be used for a variety of projects such as bathrooms, parking lots, trails, and more.
The Fiscal Court approved the following: Jailer training incentive pay,5th District VFD Treasurer’s report, Mud River tax rate, to transfer $10,000 to the E911fund, to transfer $35,000 to the jail fund, and all other bills and transfers.
