Barbara A. Harper

GLASGOW – Barbara A. Harper, 80, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Jewell Botts Powell and the late Dorene Kingrey Powell. She was a retired beautician, a member of the Haywood Fire Department as an EMT, and a member of Dover Missionary Baptist Church in Haywood.

She is survived by two children, Lori Knight (Eddie) and Tony Bragg (Tiffany); four grandchildren, Nick Compton (Lindsey), Zack Bragg, Hannah Bragg, and Shelby Bragg. Her caregiver, Beverly Eaton; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Randolph “Randy” Harper; two brothers, Gary Douglas Powell and Jerry David Powell.

The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Society Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time for services.
