William “Billy” Lawrence Adams

SUMMER SHADE – William “Billy” Lawrence Adams, Jr., age 91, passed away Monday, June 29, 2026, after a short stay at Barren County Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born in Glasgow on August 15, 1934, to the late William Lawrence Adams and the late Sulie Shelton Adams. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary Jo Adams

Billy was a lifelong farmer and a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed bird hunting. He was a member of Union #2 Missionary Baptist Church, where he also served as a Deacon for 41 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Mark Adams (Janice); two grandchildren, Amanda Simmons (Guy) and Kyle Adams (Sarah); great-grandchildren, Jace Simmons, Dorsey Simmons, Porter Adams, and Cutler Adams; four nieces and two nephews, as well as several great-nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Renfro.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday and on Wednesday morning until time for the service.
