Rodney Cleve Smith

GLASGOW – Rodney Cleve Smith, 72, passed away Friday, June 26, 2026, at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. Born April 2, 1954, in Chicago, he was the son of the late Carlus Ralph Smith and Nell Eris Waller Smith.

Rodney was a retired pressman for printing firms. He had many varied interests along with his love of being with his friends. He was a talented mechanic who spent much time restoring cars to their one-time glory; he was a large fan of the Star Trek movies; he enjoyed playing his guitar with neighbors; and he loved listening to music, especially to his favorite bands, The Beach Boys and The Beatles.

Survivors include his only son, Allen Smith of Tampa, Florida; two brothers, Kenny Smith (April) of Glasgow and Junior Smith of Louisville; three sisters, Nancy Jolly (Charles) of Glasgow, Sue Meyer (Jerry), and Jean Pfeiffer of Louisville; several nieces and nephews; some special neighbors; and his dear friends at Best Donuts.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, William Smith, and a brother-in-law, Pete Pfeiffer.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Lick Branch Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
