Betty Lucille Dragoo

GLASGOW – Betty Lucille Dragoo, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at her home with her daughter, Susan Dragoo.

Betty was born May 13, 1937, in Waukegan, IL, the daughter of Frank and Ethel Derreberry. Betty met David Dragoo, who was serving in the U.S. Navy at Great Lakes Naval Base, and they married on July 30, 1955, in Waukegan, IL.

Married 57 years and one month when David passed. Betty moved from Indiana to Florence, AL, to be closer to her brother and sister-in-law for ten years. While in Florence, Betty was active with the Church, the YMCA, and the Red Hat Club. She met some of her dearest friends in Florence.

In October 2024, she moved to Glasgow, KY, to live with her daughter. Mrs. Dragoo worked 30 years for First Merchants Bank in Muncie, IN.

She is survived by her son, Gregory Dragoo, and daughter, Susan Dragoo; two grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Dragoo’s wishes were to be cremated. There are no services planned at this time. Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
