Vonda Pearl Gentry
MT. HERMON – Vonda Pearl (Stephens) Gentry, age 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the Barren County Nursing & Rehab in Glasgow. Vonda was born in Temple Hill on July 12, 1932, a daughter of the late Bedford Dow and Laura Alice (Cook) Stephens. Vonda worked at Handmachers in Glasgow and was a devoted housewife and mother. She enjoyed square dancing and being a part of the Mt. Hermon Community Center for the last thirty-five years, and was a member of the Poplar Log Church of Christ.
Vonda is survived by her son, Bobby Gentry, and wife, Betty, of Mount Hermon; two grandchildren, Wesley Gentry and wife Emily, of Bowling Green, and Taylor Waldridge and husband Brandon, of Cave City; and four great-grandchildren, Gunner Garrison, Everly Gentry, Annie Page, and Adaline Gentry. One brother, Raymond Stephens, and wife, Wanda of Tompkinsville; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family, also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Lendell Gentry, and fourteen siblings, Paul, Ray, Martin, James, Glen, Randall, Willie, Thomas, Claudine, Oma, Irene, Margie, Annie, and Ella Mae.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial to follow in the White Cemetery. Kevin Dyer will officiate the service.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 25, 2026, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday, after 8:00 a.m. until the service time at 12:00 noon.
