Tiffany Riggins-Blakley was honored as the Educator of the Year at the 29th Annual Senior Celebrity Banquet on April 23rd. She was accompanied by her husband, Chris Blakley, mother, Julie Pedigo, and special guest, Mrs. LeAnne Bell.
Tiffany graduated from Casey County High School in 2014 and Campbellsville University in 2018. Tiffany is in her seventh year at Metcalfe County High School and her fifth as Band Director. During her time with the Metcalfe County School System, she has inspired the love of learning in her students. She offers encouragement and support, not just to the students but to her colleagues and all those who cross her path. She has a smile that is contagious and warmth that is felt the minute you speak to her.
Congratulations to the 2026 Educator of the Year, Tiffany Riggins-Blakley. This award could not go to anyone more deserving, and what a credit you are to your profession.
Mrs. Riggins-Blakley was introduced by Metcalfe County Middle School Assistant Principal LeAnne Bell.
Mrs. Bell stated that Mrs. Riggins-Blakley is a testament to Bono’s famous sentiment: Music can change the world, because it can change people. “
Mrs. Riggins-Blakley is far more than an instructor; she is an artistic visionary and a mentor who balances high expectations with a nurturing spirit. She possesses the rare ability to seek latent potential in every student, creating a sanctuary where they feel safe taking the risks necessary for artistic and personal growth. Under her leadership, the band program reached a monumental milestone by qualifying for the State Championships for the first time in school history. This achievement is a direct result of her ability to inspire excellence and compete at the highest levels.
Mrs. Riggins-Blakley has built a profound culture of inclusion. For many, the band room is a “safe haven” where they find “their people.” Her commitment is best summarized by the words she leaves the students with after every class and competition: ‘I love you.”
In closing, Mrs. Bell stated Tiffany Riggins-Blakley doesn’t just teach music; she builds character and changes lives.
