Sylvia Mae London-Thompson

CENTER – Sylvia Mae London-Thompson, 85, passed away Friday, January 16, 2026, at Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital. She was born April 23, 1940, to the late Freeman and Gertrude Scott London. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Thompson, and her siblings, James London and Rometta Johnson.

Sylvia was a member of the Hiseville Christian Church and was a pianist for nearly 50 years. She had a passion for reading and often found joy in playing puzzles on her iPad.

She is survived by her daughters, Melinda (Willard) Matthews of Louisville, KY, and Carrie Thompson of Center; three grandchildren, Will Matthews, Tate Matthews, and Myla Matthews; Tina Dobson; great-nephews, Ryan Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Brennan Dobson, and Wesley Dobson. She is also survived by many friends and her church family.

Funeral services for Sylvia Thompson will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Bowles Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, and after 8:00 Am Thursday until time of the service here at the funeral home.
