Two local men accused of stealing cattle in several counties are scheduled to stand trial next year.

Jeremy C. White, age 38 of Hardyville, and Robert C. White, age 32 of Edmonton, were first arrested in October after a long-term investigation into a series of cattle thefts that spanned Hart, Barren, Metcalfe, and Hardin Counties. At that time, they were both indicted in Hardin Circuit Court on felony charges, which included Engaging in Organized Crime and Theft by Deception (Complicity) involving cold checks valued between $1,000 and $10,000.

On December 2, both men appeared in Hardin County Circuit Court for a pre-trial conference, pleading not guilty to the charges. During the hearing, the court scheduled a jury trial for 9 a.m. on August 10, 2026. A final pretrial conference is set for 1:15 p.m. on July 14, 2026.

Jeremy C. White and Robert C. White are both being represented by attorney Johnny Bell. According to reports, Bell raised potential concerns about whether Hardin County is the proper venue for the case but said he wanted additional time to review the information before filing any formal motion.

The lead prosecutor in the case is Commonwealth’s Attorney Shane Young with the Kentucky Circuit Court 9th District.

The investigation into the multi-county cattle theft was conducted jointly with the Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office, the Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement/Special Investigations Section, and other law enforcement agencies. Additional support in the case came from the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney in Hardin County and the United States Secret Service.

Engaging in organized crime is a Class B Felony punishable by 10-20 years, with a mandatory serve of 85% of the sentence.
