The Edmonson County Industrial Authority held its annual Christmas celebration and awards ceremony on December 9, 2025, at Tayvin Gardens.
Chairman Kevin Alexander welcomed everyone and presented two awards. The first was for Industry of the Year, presented to R & R, and Business of the Year to the Bank of Edmonson County.
R & R began as an HVAC specialist company but has now grown to include residential properties, sheet metal, and technical services. They provide great service to not only Edmonson but surrounding counties.
The Bank of Edmonson County celebrated its 100th year of business this year, but this has been the first year for it to win a long overdue award. The bank has grown to over a $200 million company but is still under the direction of the same families who began it in 1925. That is a tribute to sound financial decisions, guidance, and being good community partners.
This year’s guest speaker was Johnny Webb. Webb talked about Edmonson County and how he grew up here. He moved to Bowling Green and started a small business out of the trunk of his car that later grew to be the Parent and Teacher Store. Webb went on to become the Mayor of Bowling Green and helped to establish Operation P.R.I.D.E. (paint, repair, improve, develop, and enjoy). Webb encourages everyone to contribute to their community to help grow, which will benefit everyone.
Webb teared up as he spoke about his efforts to bring the Trans Park to the Northern side of Bowling Green in hopes that it would help neighboring Edmonson County with much needed jobs, to which I would say mission accomplished.
