William Fred Shirley

GLASGOW – William Fred Shirley, 80, passed away Friday, December 5, 2025, at NHC Health Care. He was the son of the late Curt and Laura Janes Shirley. He was a retired jailer of Barren County and a member of East Fork Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Jeaniene Hubbard Shirley; two brothers, Junior Shirley (Shirley) and Philip Shirley (Margaret); two sisters, Christine Bennett and Brenda Smith. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Elroy Shirley, Bobby Shirley, James Shirley, Earl Dunham Shirley, Charles Shirley, and Paul David Shirley; two sisters, Dee Burris and Pauline Shirley.

Funeral will be 11:00 am Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday and after 8:00 am on Thursday until time for services.
