November 18, 2025, the monthly Chief’s meeting was held.
Melissa Johnson from the American Red Cross was there to talk about becoming a heart safe community. Johnson pointed out some areas where Edmonson County has a need for AEDs or more AEDs. Many AEDs now do not require training to be able to operate them.
Johnson explained a donation was made from a resident in Hart County to the American Heart Association. The plan is to use the funds in Hart and the surrounding counties to Hart, to help the communities. AEDs was one suggestion.
Some of the departments are still having trouble with the Tango Tango system not working. A technician has been in the county and gave recommendations on how to correct the issue. Judge Scott Lindsey will contact Tango Tango to request a technician to explain better ways to use Tango Tango.
Emergency Director Terry Massey said he had the new by-laws written but not finalized.
Judge Lindsey also mentioned that there is a new policy between the Edmonson County Water District and the fire departments to notify departments if the water company needs to disconnect a hydrant for repairs.
A training has been set for December 8, 2025, for Autism Training. Everyone is invited to attend.
