Mitchell Nethery

GLASGOW – Mitchell Nethery, a beloved member of the Glasgow community, passed away on October 15, 2025, at TJ Samson Community Hospital. He was born on January 25, 1934, in Mt. Eden, Kentucky. Mitchell’s life was characterized by his strong commitment to his career as an Animal Health Technician for the USDA, where he devoted many years to safeguarding the welfare of animals.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mitchell also found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly fishing, which brought him peaceful moments in nature.

Mitchell proudly served in the Army, demonstrating a dedication to his country that he carried throughout his life. His integrity and steadfastness were admired by all who knew him, both in military service and beyond.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Nethery; daughter, Marla Carter (Chris); and his cherished grandchildren, Jesse Guffey, Chaney Guffey, Courtney Purdue, Jordan Carter, and Joel Terry Carter. Additionally, nieces, Dana Rollins and Susanne Smitha, and nephew Keith Nethery

Mitchell was preceded in death by his father, Morrey Nethery; his mother, Alma Dennison Nethery; and his brothers, Cecil and Oral Nethery. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and treasured him.

The funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Glenview Christian Church, followed by burial at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and Saturday, October 18th, from 9:00 AM until time for the service at Glenview Christian Church.

Military honors will be provided at the graveside by the Glasgow DAV chapter #20.
