GLASGOW, Ky. (October 15, 2025) – Governor Andy Beshear joined leaders from Tate Inc., Kingspan Group PLC, and the Barren County Economic Authority today in announcing a transformative $61.2 million investment in Glasgow, Kentucky—marking the largest economic development project in Barren County in nearly two decades.

Tate Inc., a global leader in advanced infrastructure solutions for data centers and commercial environments, will establish its largest North American manufacturing facility in a 764,000-square-foot building to be renovated into a state-of-the-art production hub. The project will create 400 full-time jobs and significantly boost the region’s economy.

“This is the largest job creation project we’ve seen in Barren County in almost 20 years,” said Governor Andy Beshear during his visit to Kingscourt, Ireland, where he met with executives at Kingspan Group, Tate’s parent company. “Kentucky has secured our place as a manufacturing leader with our skilled workforce and prime location, and companies across the globe are taking notice. I want to thank the leaders at Tate and Kingspan for choosing to invest here in the Commonwealth.”

The facility will primarily manufacture data center components and thermal containment products to serve customers across the United States. Barren County prevailed over several competing states to secure the project—Tate’s first location in Kentucky.

Daniel Kennedy, Tate’s Global President of Cloud Solutions and Innovation, emphasized the company’s commitment to U.S. growth. “We’re delighted to become part of the Glasgow community. Expanding our manufacturing capabilities in rural Kentucky reflects our commitment to expand our U.S. manufacturing footprint and the creation of high-quality jobs here in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.”

Local officials celebrated the announcement as a defining moment for the region.

“This is a once-in-a-generation milestone for Glasgow,” said Mayor Henry Royse. “The creation of 400 new jobs speaks volumes about the strength of our community and the opportunities that lie ahead.”

Barren County Judge/Executive Jamie Byrd added, “Four hundred new jobs means more families supported, more dreams realized, and a stronger foundation for our local economy. This historic announcement reinforces what we have always known—that Barren County is a place where businesses can thrive and people can prosper.”

Maureen Carpenter, President & CEO of the Barren County Economic Authority, credited collaboration for the project’s success. “A project of this caliber is only possible through strong partnerships. We are ecstatic to welcome Tate Access Flooring to Glasgow and truly appreciate their decision to invest here.”

The investment aligns with Kingspan Group’s broader U.S. expansion strategy. Kingspan has committed $150 million to U.S. capital expenditures in 2025, following a $50 million investment in 2024. The company operates in 32 locations across 17 states and employs over 2,350 people nationwide.

Founded in 1963 and headquartered in Columbia, Maryland, Tate Inc. is globally recognized for its innovation in critical data center infrastructure, including raised access floors, aisle containment, airflow management, and structural ceiling solutions. Tate employs more than 1,800 people across 21 global facilities and is part of Kingspan Group’s international network of 273 facilities in 80 countries.
