Fiscal Court Holds Short Meeting

Aug. 11, 2025, Fiscal Court meeting was held. All magistrates were present except for TJ Massey.

In the road report the mow/trim mower is not being used right now due to needing repairs. Mowers are out in the county. The Road Dept. is working on flex road paving at this time.

Emergency Management reported 26 runs in the last two weeks. Sheriff James Vincent stated his department had 562 runs in the month of July. Jailer Todd Vincent stated there are currently 17 inmates in the Hart County Jail.

Edmonson County Attorney Adam Turner reported he has been working on the Entertainment Permits. Notices have been sent to all businesses that fall into the category of needing a permit.

County Clerk, Kevin Alexander reported one party had submitted to the Board of Tax Assessment Appeals. The Tax was found to be fair. Many of the county’s delinquent taxes are around the Nolin Lake area.

In the Judge’s updates. Judge Exec. Scott Lindsey stated that the Sunfish Roundhill Road testing is complete. There will be a meeting with the landowner before the project goes out to bid.

Fiscal Court approved the following pending a final audit; sheriff’s July Monthly Fee report, County Clerk’s July MVAV Collection report, County Clerk’s July Excess Fee report, County Clerk’s July Deed Transfer report, and County Clerk’s July Delinquent Tax Collection report.

The Fiscal Court approved the following: Anne Vincent notary bond, Ordinance EC25-22 changing speed limit from 35 mph to 25 mph on Rolling Way, Treasurer’s July monthly settlement report, 2026 Litter Abatement grant, July’s Cash Transfers, all other bills and transfers, and appointment of Amanda Denham to the Ag. Extension Board. for a three-year term.

The Fiscal Court acknowledged the County Clerk’s July Document Storage fee pending final audit and the Dog Control July CAD report.

The next meeting will be a tax hearing at 3:54 pm on Aug. 25, 2025, before the regular Fiscal Court meeting at 4:00pm.
