A+ Family Health Care held its open house on Aug. 5, 2025. CEO Patrick Merritt welcomed everyone and expressed his gratitude and hopes for the future of A Plus. Last week was chosen due to it being National Health Service week.

Merritt began by saying how happy he was that the community has made A Plus a success since 2017.  They started with one hallway and 5 patient rooms. They quickly had to expand. Now, along with several nurse practitioners, A Plus has grown to reach Elizabethtown and Sonora. They even have a pediatrician now on staff. Along with regular patient rooms, A Plus has expanded to address the ever-changing behavioral health issues so many deal with every day. With a dedicated calming triage room and a psychiatrist on staff to assist with patients. They also help with referrals and advocacy for their patients.

Supporters enjoyed snacks after the event.

Merritt stated that states as far away as California have reached out to ask about their success. A Plus has also worked with several in-state facilities to help them grow and become more successful in their communities.

Future plans include building a new Health Center in Brownsville. TJ Sampson is looking to collaborate with A Plus to bring services to Edmonson County.

A Plus is also a great community sponsor. They are always donating time, money, or support to events and the Edmonson County School system to make life better in general for everyone.
