Butler County Fiscal Court Supports Local Youth

Butler County Fiscal Court held its regular meeting on May 12… The Fiscal Court went straight to new business. Boys and Girls Club CEO Steve Winkler and Board President Tom Hood thanked the Fiscal Court for its support of the Boys and Girls Club. Hood stated that the Club supports youth ages 6 to 18.

Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center addressed the Fiscal Court about its support for BRACAC. BRACA asked for $1,500 to continue to support children who are victims of abuse or sexual abuse and assault by providing a safe space and forensic therapy, which helps to prosecute offenders. County Attorney Michelle Duvall was also thanked for the work she and her office have done to see that justice was carried out in many of these cases.

Fiscal Court made a motion to apply for the Waste Tire Grant covering July 1, 2025, until June 30, 2026.

Fiscal Court approved the following; payment for the new County Clerk’s flooring on completion of install, approved the purchase of road materials at a variety of businesses based on pricing and quality, approved Blanton Electric for the Woodbury RV Park. Judge Fleener stated “What February’s flood didn’t take out April’s flood did.”

The Fiscal Court approved new contracts with Zetron, formerly GeoConnex, for the 911 system. Fiscal Court also approved to pay $3991 to Revcord as part of the 911 system yearly contract.

The Fiscal Court approved the repair to the rescue squad truck that happened during the recent flooding, for $1139.50 to C and L.

Fiscal Court then approved the 2025/26 Animal Shelter bid in the amount of $7500 a month. Magistrates asked if the Animal Shelter had given the update reports. Judge Flenner said he would reach out to them for an update.

Fiscal Court approved the following: Treasurer’s monthly settlement, to transfer $35,000 from the General Fund to the Jail fund, and all other bills and transfers.
