Educator of the Year

By Kim Harwood

Chamber Executive Director

The 2025 Educator of the Year goes to Bryant Stockton.

Mr. Stockton was honored at the Senior Celebrity Banquet on April 23rd. Bryant was introduced by fellow educator, Dr. Robert Bunch. Dr. Bunch recognized Mr. Stockton not only as a fellow educator, but also as a great mentor and an even greater friend.

Dr. Bunch shared stories about being a student in Mr. Stockton’s class, describing him as having a calm and reassuring attitude. He has the ability to bring people together, and his students are far more than a test score. That is the teacher Mr. Stockton is, and that is the sort of teacher that makes Metcalfe County a better place.

Robert “Bryant” Stockton was born and raised in Clinton County where he graduated in 1992 and attended Western Kentucky University graduating in 1997. Bryant began teaching at Metcalfe County High School in 1998 and has taught English there since.

Bryant is married to fellow Metcalfe County English teacher, Jo Karen Morris. He has four children: Chloe, James, Richard, and Faith.

Bryant is one-half of the KySportsGuys (with Josh Hurt). He is a singer/songwriter, member of the Hornets’ Nest Pickers band, and has been MCHS track head coach for 13 years.

Congratulations Mr. Stockton.
