April 10, 2025. The Edmonson County Senior Pantry held its 3rd annual Spring into Health and Wellness event. Over 22 vendors were on site to provide information and free giveaways to residents who attended. In all, there were around 200 people who came out to take advantage of finding out information about services.
Kentucky Hears had a truck set up outside and could complete hearing tests for anyone needing one. 18 residents choose to use this service. About 20 residents signed up for the free smoke detectors from the American Red Cross that local Volunteer Firefighters will be installing free of charge and 15 lucky people won door prizes.

This event not only highlights health in the traditional ways but also gives residents a chance to discover what services are out there they might not know they need. From information for health insurance to diabetes information to RSVP and Barren River District Health there really was something for everyone.

Eventgoers said they enjoyed their time, and everyone walked away with something, be it information or a tomato plant. Many exclaimed about services they would be checking into in the future. Vendors reported it to be a great turnout and was successful for their business. With so many people visiting, it was a great way for them to get the word out about what they had to offer.

Vickie Walker was thankful to the vendors who took the time to set up and to all the residents who came to participate. She was glad that Judge Exec. Scott Lindsey and Mayor Ricky Simon came out to show support for the event. She would also like to thank everyone who donated a door prize and the wonderful lunch provider.
