Jonathan Walker Belcher
GLASGOW – Jonathan Walker Belcher, 48, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at home surrounded by family after a courageous 17-year battle with cancer.
Jonathan was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to Johnny Belcher and Connie (Wayne) Hensley, both of whom survive. Jonathan leaves behind his wife of 25 years, Laura Giffin Belcher; children, Lindsay and Harrison Belcher; maternal grandmother, Rebecca Carey; brothers, Scott (Annie) Belcher of Cumming, GA, Michael (Megan) Hensley of Cumming, GA, Alex (Kate) Belcher of Brentwood, TN, and Steven Hensley of Russellville, KY, ; mother and father-in-law, Glenn and Emmie Giffin of Martins Ferry, Ohio; brothers-in-law, Doug (Renee) Giffin and Aaron Giffin both of Martins Ferry, Ohio; nephew, Aidan Giffin; and nieces, Abby Giffin, Bailey and Maddy Belcher, Ruby Hensley, Clark Belcher and Audrey Hensley; uncles, Todd (Maria) Belcher of Glasgow, KY and Larry Belcher of Tompkinsville, KY; family friends, Myra Shirley and Netta Little. Preceding Jonathan in death are paternal grandparents, Levy and Clodean Belcher; and maternal grandfather, Rollie Carey.
Jonathan was a graduate of Glasgow High School and Ohio University. While at Ohio University, Jonathan was on the Men’s Golf Team and obtained a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Jonathan was a CPA and worked and became a partner at Campbell, Myers & Rutledge, CPA until 2018. Jonathan served as the CFO of Direct Customer Solutions, LLC until August 2024.
Jonathan was an avid golfer and loved to encourage young people to golf. Jonathan enjoyed coaching youth and over the years served as a Soccer Coach for the Glasgow Recreation Department, coached the Glasgow High School Girls’ Golf Team, and most recently served as the Glasgow High School Boys’ Golf Coach.
As much as Jonathan loved to coach, he loved to share the love of Jesus with the youth.
Jonathan was an active member of Glenview Christian Church, where he was currently serving as an Elder and, when his health allowed, taught Sunday school for elementary age children.
Jonathan enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and being an amateur grill master.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff and providers at The Medical Center at Bowling Green for their outstanding care and compassion during his recent hospitalization and to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.

Visitation will be at 1:00-7:00 pm on Friday, April 4, and then from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 4:00 pm on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Both visitation and the funeral will be at Glenview Christian Church, 1403 Glenview Drive, Glasgow, KY. Funeral services are under the direction of Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Glasgow High School Boys’ Golf Team or Glasgow High School Theater Program by sending a check to The Glasgow Education Foundation in Memory of Jonathan Belcher, or to Glenview Christian Church.
