Sue Patterson Kirby

GLASGOW – Sue Patterson Kirby, 85, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

Sue was born on June 16, 1939, the daughter of George N. and Opal (Mutter) Patterson.

Sue graduated from Gamaliel High School. She retired from Wal-Mart in Glasgow, Ky. She had previously worked in Gamaliel at a sewing factory and on her family farm. Sue was of the Baptist Faith.

On August 24, 1957, she married Bro. Carlene Kirby in Ringo, GA. They built a wonderful life until Bro. Carlene passed on July 8, 2022.

Sue is survived by a son, Ricky Kirby; and two grandchildren, Jordan Elisabeth and Kristin Nichole Kirby.

Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, John Kirby.

Funeral services will be held at Yokley Trible Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 23, 2025, with burial to follow at Caney Fork Cemetery. Bro. Jimmy Cushenberry will officiate the service.

Visitation is Saturday, 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
